After reading a bit more about this, although it was an interesting video, I tend to agree with the comments made under the video

not had chance to see the video but iodate is what recommended as radioactive iodine is a beta emitter that target the thyroid and can result in cancer but taking the iodate fills the thyroid
the good thing about it is that iodine 131 is that has a short (8days) half-life
