Some of you old soldiers can you offer bit of advice, would you say it’s a good call buying an Ex-Mod truck over a non-service one.

And what you reckon a land rover? Or other? It will just be a BOV used very little other than to maintain it.

Sir my mates have had some fookin crackers of the highest order for bloodsy pennies from the one and only Withams SV

One lad in Coxhoe got either a wolf or a WMIK that had come back from Iraq, been fully reconditioned a specialist, new engine, gearbox, chassis, wiring etc, fully serviced 60,000 miles on the clock but the army decided not to send it and other back and dumped them at Withams SV. The ex RAF ones or the army ones only used for Garrioson duties had the esiest life, but the ex GW1 refurbs are superb if you are lucky. Oh and a bloody good one only used to cost about £5K
Here you go

BTW did you know that 50% of all Landies ever built are still running.

I was on that site just now as well as others, looking at this now.

Miltary Mart have a Wolf look alike but I really want something bit bigger, LWB Landover would suit, and no I did not know about the 50% thing.

I am open to suggestion as it does not have to be used, only for BOV I am willing to consider something armoured and able to plough through other cars, even if it might look odd, I have off street parking.

This is nice, but I would think its above my budget for BOV.

land rover xd's are built to last try here land rover xd
The bottom pictures are of a truck with a double barrled name that I can never remember, they were withdrawn from service fairly young because they had a braking fault the makers or the MOD were never able to fix it. there is an immacualte one at Durham Council councils yard its been OR for ages cos of the buggered brakes.

My money is always on 110s, wolfs etc though my dream vehicle is still a fully restored Series 2 A
Reynolds Boughton: RB 44 Thats the name, lovely truck crap brake system
God drives one of these http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/...Rover_.htm
the trucks look okay especially that second one-the light brown one, but arent Land Rovers a bit small in the cargo department? get a couple of bodies in the back and there isnt any room for anything else, i can see why ex-squaddies would like them..but i am sure there is a civilian vehicle which would do the job as good if not better. if i was having a diesel vehicle..which i'm not...i would go for one of the LDV's.
any one no wot the LR does to the gallon petrol or weasel

Depending on Engine cos the petrol ones goe back to ancient 2.2 liter straight 4s but approx 22 to 25 out of a petrol and if you get the 2.5 diesel which is the same lump as a transits you can get around 28 - 32 mpg if your lucky. But some like the v 8s your talking 18 to 22 MPH
I want a 110 or a S2A
Yes it is a RB-44 sorry I forgot to put name up.

I watched this video and was bit concerned.

He's bellied it, bad driving.
