It just goes to show whats happening with the food we are being forced to eat from the supermarkets.
The dicision we took to buy local food or home grown and cook everything stratch was a good choice.
all that sort of stuff is "mechanically rescued meat" anyway, in other words floor scrapings..which is why i dont eat supermarket meat!
Just going up to Tesco's for milk and Shergar, anybody want anything ?
29% of the meat content in Tesco's hamburgers turns out to be horse?! No wonder they gave me the trots!

the NHS has confirmed those who ate burgers containing horse are all in a stable condition !
Nowt wrong with a bit of horse. Surely it costs more to get horse meat than it does to get a cow? Unless they've stolen horses?

yeah bring me back a leg with the hoof still on
Makes a change from it being bloody halal
a lot of Dartmoor ponies go to the meat trade..mainly pet food..they only sell for about £1.
Processed food from a supermarket and anyone is surprised?!

A bit of horse is not such a problem, people need to get over themselves, meat is meat, we were and probably still are feeding cows on people, but it does bring up a couple of things:

1. Horses in the UK can and are given medications that you would not normally give to a meat animal, simply because it is not planned that people will be eating them.

2. If these foods have horse in, what else are the manufacturers getting away with putting in them?

3. Why was Ireland's version of DEFRA testing for horse meat in the first place?
Whats next my lidl pony?
