For anyone interested in Historical European Martial arts there are a lot of pre conceived ideas and myths that have grown up around the use and effectiveness of such fighting systems. The link below will take you to Arma, a group dedicated to studying these fighting systems using primary sources as guidance. The site also has a library of Primary sources to read and study from a diverse European background. There are more resources online for serious study and I can send links to them if needed.

very interesting from a history point of view, but I don't think many people will be armed with swords and lances and the like post shtf?? a decent firearm, crossbow and bow and arrow, in fact anything that fires a projectile of some form or another will take out any swordsman long before they get anywhere near.

Vikings did not have horns :p

Fighting in battle must of been terrifying, and yould get tired quickly
Vikings might of "had the Horn" so to speak but they certainly did not have them on their Helmets, which is a pity really coz they look aceBig Grin
