Hi all, I'm looking to get into BushCraft and looking for a Genuine British Army Issue Basha to buy online. So was wondering if any of you good folk could point me in the right direction or possibly a link.

British Army bashas are a bit hard to come by here in the colonies.

A US made product I value highly is the Swack Shack, designed by George W. Jasper, former U.S. Army Ranger and chief instructor with the United States Rescue and Special Operations Group. Based on the British Basha, The Swack-Shack is 9 feet long and 7 1/2 feet wide! That's 67 square feet of cover! Enough for you, your gear and some firewood too! Just don't make any plans for a pantry; this bivy is made for those on the move and ready for the weather. The Swack-Shack weighs in at 1 1/4 pounds. It's constructed of 70 D Nylon Ripstop, #46 Mil-Spec Bonded Nylon Thread, has 3 loops of 1/2" nylon webbing along the center and 4 - 3/8" grommets along each of the two sides.

Agreed, Some of the Genuine issue gear is few and far between.

That seems like a great alternative to what I'm looking for so I will definitely consider it in comparison to the DPM basha. Shall add it to my bookmarks and give it a look.

I picked another desert one on my last outing. £25, but in tip-top condition. It's the strong one that can be used as a stretcher too - I dunno weather to convert it into a hammock or keep it for it's intended use.
