Rather than stare at the heading of a closed thread forever I decided to just post something, anything actually, under the morals and ethics heading.

Morals and Ethics:

What are they? (Yes that is a valid question)

Do you have any?

Where did they come from?

Are they different from others'?

Are yours the only ones?

Will they survive your survival?
Good question:
My morals are basically;
I'll not do anyone any harm if the leave me alone.
I'll help people where I can.
I'll not lie or mislead people.
I'll treat people as I want to be treated.

From:
Basically from my parents.

Different:
probably not too far from most peoples.

The only ones?
I could probably add a few more around relationships with people that you know/don't know etc.

Survive my survival:
That would depend on the situation but sadly I would compromise them if I had to.

Excellent answer SD, I can't add anything to that statement.
Reading SD s post....my reply matches his I really can,t find anything i could add...would i stay true wtshtf I do believe I would try ...but who can know how others will behave to test you out ? Still ....your moral compass should hold you on a steady course ....forced deviations may well be on the cards....FORCED.
most of us have a Christian moral outlook and that has done us ok for the past 1000yrs.
but before Christianity we went with a pagan outlook , do what you like , might is right , the strong survive the weak fall .
all thoughts of a famous german thinker who name is to hard to spell, god is dead ...you know the one .
who of us now believe in god ....ect ...but still many of us like the thoughts behind him or it.

slowly that german thinkers views [the old greek / roman view of morals] will come back even in the uas where god/ jesus rocks if viewed from the outside , but inside god died long ago.

sorry great question mort.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Cutting off your arms and legs makes you stronger? I've never liked that phrase.
Perhaps you are taking it too litteraly?

Yea, I have always thought that perhaps Nietzse had never been kicked hard in the jewels.

The statement is the ultimate absurdity.

It is right up there with pain being weakness leaving the body.
