LS what do you make of this please, I and a few in Europe were thinking of going further into this but we need your guidance. NR

Oh, your back, hopefully well rested Smile I think LS is away, I've not spoken to him for a week or so.

You've cost me a fiver with a bet with another member, I didn't think you'd be back until August lol, still the fiver goes to Help for Heroes.

Get your Foundation license and you'll learn enough to make sense of the link yourself, LS may not be there if things go breasts up afterall.
The concept of having all the various channels in one box is viable. In North America many of those channels are allocated to licensed services, amateur 70cm band and some military, which could attract unwanted attention. Knowing which freqs to use in which region, and to have a channel coordination plan is essential.

Experience here with the low cost Chinese radios has not been favorable, seehttp://quietsurvivalist.com/beofengs-and-their-issues/ but they are inexpensive and much better than no radio at all.
Agreed Charles, the little Beofengs are a cheap and cheerful little handheld. I've 2/70 rigs from the likes of (an old) Trio through to modern icom and Yaesu sets but the little UV5R sets are not bad as 'walkie talkies', one of mine is in the kitchen tuned into BBC Radio 4 Smile

"It is very important to note that the band between 431-432MHz is not available for use if you are located anywhere within 100km radius of Charing Cross, London." have you come across this before?

I enjoyed your write up on http://pelicanbayarc.com/getting-the-mos...is-ke4sky/ I volunteer with Raynet http://www.raynet-uk.net/

Hello NR LS is away for a while there is a thread about it.

Interesting link there, keep it public don't take it to PM's.

.
Keep this very limited bandwidth open but be very aware of its comms limitations in the real world...
