A quick review of the czech army sleep system


I used one of these at the weekend and was bitterly disappointed.

the weather was very warm at the weekend, and i was FREEZING all night long, i went through a little bit of a rapid in my kayak, and a little water splashed on the packed system, reulting in my finding out that the outer cover is NOT waterproof, its some kind of mad anti-goretex, it lets moisture IN, but not OUT!

on the plus side, it was large enough for me to wear my parka in, which i had to do as it really didnt have much in the way of thermal qualities!

My opinion - give it a swerve, you may find them cheap, but you'll need extra blankets in the middle of summer, not worth the hassle.

Yes they are heavy & bulky too. Designed to be offloaded from trucks to an army field camp.
