Is Western Democracy Real or a Facade?

RE: Is Western Democracy Real or a Facade?
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what is for dinner.

Most of the progress of the human race has been done by powerful men in a dictatorship. As soon as we start listening to the weak, the inept and the cowardly we lower our standards and our progress. What progress have we made over the last 30 years? Look at our moral and intellectual standards.

Democracy, like socialism and communism, sounds good in theory but the reality leaves much to be desired. The US republic was the nearest we got to a democratic society but you can see how easily that was destroyed by socialists. It is because people will always leave others to do things for them.

When this cycle collapses, as it must, the survivors will become independant and we will rise again, only for the generations beyond that to do the same again. Something has to break the chain and I think science has the only chance for that.
