Wood for heating... effort required
I spent today in the wood store, bringing in the wood that we cut during the year... and there was a lot of it, and most in logs weighing around 120Kg. Man will I ache tomorrow!

While working I did some quick sums on how much effort goes into the process.

1 big tree is about enough to last us a whole season....

1 day for felling and extraction
1 day for brining under cover ( today's exercise)
1 day for basic splitting
1 day for processing to lumps ready for chopping
I reckon on a couple of hours per week chopping during the season so that's approx. 6 days worth.

So that makes it 10 days hard graft to keep the home fires burning for a year. Not bad at all , and certainly makes the hard graft more palatable.
