Don't tell me...
Please don't tell me that once the s..t has hit the fan and things settle down that this could still happen?
I would like to think that us British preppers will be humain, kind, caring and loving again and start to rebuild a decent world.
If I survive the aftermath, plant my crops and farm some animals and folk are still robbing me...what's the point? may as well buy some strong pain killers and make it easy....
I know things will go back to the caveman/stone age but surely we can learn some lessons from NOW and make this world a better place, sure groups will have differences of opinions but there is no need for killing Sad

oops, forgot to post the link...

RE: Don't tell me...
hard to say what'll happen prepaday, might be rough like that, transitional phases always are, let alone such an enormous transition!
i guess you gotta just hope, hope that you'll make it through, and hope that everyone you meet arent just bastards, but tbh i think most british survivors would be possible to reason with Big Grin after all we are a semi civilised country and most survivors would be clever and reasonable people.

i think that after a few years you'd need to go for safety in numbers, sure for the first year or 2 it would be irrelevant, but after that we'd have to start rebuilding, and forming a small society would be the first step in that direction!

as for the link, its kenya, not exactly civilised or particularly educated, that sort of thing is a very regular occurance unfortuneatly Tongue

the problem would be sheeple who have nothing or very little preppers would i hope be more civilized and more willing to help out (within reason) sheeple would be panicing while we would stay calm having prepped for it !

RE: Don't tell me...
I will be on my own with my fella and 3 kids, once the sheeple have gone...any advice on how to find a group of nice preppers who would take us into their group? Do I walk around with a white hanky on a stick? lol.
I will have uses, I am a hard grafter, not afraid of getting dirty. I can help raise the animals, p[lant and harvest crops, go hunting.
How would you advance towards a group of hopefully friendly folk?
Are there any tell tale signs that a group might be baddies?

RE: Don't tell me...
Things will only get worse I'm thinking.
Diplomacy will be whoever has the biggest gun.
If everything turns feral then the world will revert to the strongest surviving.
Preppers may just turn out to be a rice food source which human nature will strip and leave the remains behind.
That's why strength MUST be built into your prepping. I'm not talking physical strength either.
An 8 year old child soldier with an AK can happily kill a 20 stone strong man. One squeeze of a finger.
In the case of complete collapse, it'll probably be your ability to kill that keeps you and your own safe not how many cans of beans you have.

RE: Don't tell me...
best start becoming honed killers then ay chaps and chappettes!

as for finding nice preppers, done hold ya breath, much much easier said than done, as paul says it'll revert to survival of the fittest, theres no clear cut way to say, this ones a good'un and this one aint, will depend situation to situation, just get your analytical skills good, learn to sense peoples intentions and what they are like Smile

and groups of bad guys, well you should be able to notice from their behavior, any group you even consider contacting spend a while observing them from a distance, and i mean a while too, dont just observe for 2 days and think well, they havent killed no one, must be ok, spend a week or ideally more than that before even considering contact, and be prepared, make it so your doing so under your terms, not theirs, keep an upper hand in every situation, even if it means instructing your children and partner to hide in cover and keep rifles trained on those your contacting, just in case it goes bad, if they make threatening moves to you and you say if they move another inch they'll be shot through the head, self preservation will generally stay their hand xD...especially if a warning shot is fired Big Grin

anyway theres no clear cut method for any of these things, like the situation the approach is gonna be unique Smile

other than prearranging to meet up with people from here or other sites the only way to form a safe group i guess would be with people you knew and trusted before the fall (non preppers) , or to watch a group over a period of time to see how they act and interact the problem with that is that when you approach them they might not trust you!!

always carry a carrot and a stick, an upside to cooperation and a downside to turning on you Smile

Madam if you want a peaceful secure future after TSHTF for your family then you prepare for conflict, it is strength that scum fear and weakness they seek. if both yourself and your children can use bows or guns or knives then your chance of a future is far more secure than it will be if you expect the state to protect you.
All in my family have done basic martial arts, are competant handling a blade, can shoot rifles, crossbows or bows to a fair standard, and after TSHTF its a standing rule that all preppers in my group will always carry a knife for work and a bow will always be no more than arms length away ( for opportunity hunting as much as security)
The Kenyan situation is about space and resources cos the civilisation of Africa has brought a massive increase in population, its boiled over in Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Somalia and Nigeria and the pot is starting to boil in Europe.

However after TSHTF the population should be much smaller and most survivors will prolly be to busy trying to produce food erather than go killing other survivors, but there will always be parasites, socialists, robbers and chancers trying to take away what you have.

Yes you stay on the forums, go to RZs and build contacts with others like yourself, get yourself known as a commited prepper not a wannabe, a serious and genuine person who believes in her cause, in time you will find others like yourself. It would not hurt to register on SDs contact list on the home page either.
