Nothing to do with age it is the angle of the photo. You all have seen the trick photos where someone is leaning againt a tower. It's all about perception and our brains are easily fooled.

Quick update on the Banshee quad, I have now fired over 200 arrows from this bow and there is no noticable wear on the wire, there is slight polishing of the arrow rest but it has not caused any noticable damage to the arrows or bow, but I may fit a magnetic pivoting arrow rest to the bows just to lift the arrow fletches a few mm higher.
