I would have said no.
I preppare so that I don't have to stoop to 'any means' to survive.
(I don't want to have sell my body, or steal or kill others to survive).

Imagine you are a prepper after an event and someone comes to your home or retreat who didn't prepare and they claim they need your food.
Now the government comes along and takes some of your prepps away and gives it to the people who didn't prepare. How do you feel?

This is exactly the way tax payers feel when we have our money taken away and given to people on the benefits system.

[NR, After all our disagreements, I think we've finally found something we agree on!]
you may (as tax payers) with the system we have, but its the only one we have at present, its been buggered about with by various governments so it no longer resembles the original system...the original system dictated that you had to work(usually straight from school) for several years and PAY taxes and NI first....you had to put IN to the system before you took anything OUT. i agree that there are too many people on benefit who have NEVER worked. and immigrants who get benefits from day one....but that is the fault of the EU who say we must do this . i also dont think we should be paying people to breed(there are too many people so we should be paying people to be childless instead!)

Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

I said I prepare (in the hope that) I don't have to.
I didn't say I wouldn't
I prepare to try and reduce the odds that I'm ever in a position where I have to make that choice.

Ah thats better, back to normal contentious debate, and though some folks strongly disagree with my beliefs i still 100% respect their beliefs ( even if you are wrong Smile )

Thinking about whjat Barney said i think the issue not bipartisan political beliefs cos at the end of the day they dont matter, but wqhat does matter is how we define when TSHTF? I think it hit the fan two years ago, Barney feels ( I think) its not quite there yet and thats how misunderstanding happens

And this is a big broblem with saying that the rules change after TSHTF.
Your personal moral compass needs to be consistent before and after TSHTF.
If it's wrong now, it's wrong then. If it's OK then, it's OK now.

There is another choice, do without even if it kills you.

Are you really saying you'd kill your daughter to survive?

No, as that won't ensure the survival of my family?

Someone else's daughter? If it ensures the survival of my family for another day then yes. Without hesitation. This isn't about playing nice, its about surviving - by any means.

Also, when I say "I" I mean "my family & I" - I might not have been very clear there, sorry.
