RE: Pheasants
Never could see the point in hanging them. The SWMBO says shooting best (LOL).

They land in my garden and they are shot, plucked, jointed and pressure cooked with winter veg all within a few hours.
Same goes for rabbit, kill, joint, and stew, same day, within hours.

Both make a lovely rich stew which lasts for a couple of days.

not illegal to hunt Phesant s ? As long as there in season
If you hang your birds the meat matures as do all meat but keep it cool like what has been said depends on your taste buds have hung mine for a week before now
I usually soak my rabbits in salt water over night but again down to taste
And I still shoot foxes Smile

RE: Pheasants
dont forget, if you are shooting on land not your own, you need the owners permission preferably in writing otherwise you COULD get arrested for trespass with a lethal weapon...which leads to your house being searched.Big Grin
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.
