Actually, a related issue is the potential disruption to the Gulf Stream caused by changes in the salinity of the Atlantic Ocean. A rapid increase in the calving of icebergs as a result of, say, the Greenland Ice Sheet melting, together with the gradual warming of the sea, could turn off or disrupt the warm water "conveyor" that the Gulf Stream provides, leading to a dramatic change in weather for the UK. It's worth bearing in mind that we are on a similar latitude to Labrador in Northern Canada.

Climate change, and its unpredictability, is one of the most difficult things to prep for in the long term. It affects growing season, extreme weather, crop disease; all sorts of things.

Find a resilient place and way to live, then sit back and watch a momentous period in history unfold.
