Well may then the UKs preppers will get off their collective arses and start meeting up at some sort of regular event so they can debate securely, cos I reckon in time the EU or the control freaks will cite national security or crime fighting as a reason to close down most forums where criminals and subversives plot ( IE us)

BP, you keep getting this wrong. It's IMAGINED Freedoms.

They've been tracking all our emails and listening in to phone conversations for a while now. This is not more of a surprise report than "Today another scandal about Jordan's wedding" or something like that.

I think we're so close to living in socialist police state that it's genuinely scary.

The amazing thing to me is that you think they are not already doing this!

How do you imagine they catch the number of terrorists that they do catch?

How do you think they catch the "lone wolf nutjobs" who do not communicate with anyone and simply research through google searches?

and how do you know the guy you are RV with is not a government undercover agent searching for subversives?

And what makes you think anything you discuss here is of importance to the government of any nation?

Are they after your stash of tomato soup, searching for your 12 pound air rifle, or trying to confiscate your garden tractor?

eggsactly, after all we are only getting ready for the next "storm" arent we? whatever form that may take, could be a bit of snow or flooding, or it could be that tsunami that wipes most of the low lying areas clean of all human habitation and life!Big Grin

And yet, this isn't the beginning; They've probably been doing it for years-Kind of like the whole horse meat in the burgers.
We cannot pretend that we were unaware of the fact that they have been spying on us from the beginning.
Every search, Is logged into your history; You're probably being noted into a system right now-But maybe I'm being over paranoid.

Lets face it, there's no way on earth they could monitor EVERY data packet online, they just don't have the computing power. We used to make sure we got round any chance of getting caught when trading information by using newsgroups. Ask your ISP for usenet access, grab newsbin and away you go. Split all of your uploads by using winrar and you're off. The packets can be inspected no problem, but all they see is that it's a multi-part .rar file - NOT what's inside it.

Or someone could set up a SUK VPN for us to connect to, that'll help somewhat.

I can see online comms going back to the old school BBS's to communicate. Not real time, but you can get much more security. Or do what they did years ago - write a letter.
