I have, the beds are the same metal back breakers we had in the army !! It was the one near sadberge just after it was decommisioned and before it was filled in.

i think most of them have been filled in now, but not all . the last one was in was haydon bridge and had all the original papers/maps and yes those bunks ! it was surprisingly very well preserved and would make a decent bol for the short term use anyway.

Just by coincidence they were showing one of those last night on the telly,.. they had a couple of guys on that once used them when they were in the corp... they said that there was still thousands of them around Scotland,....I wouldn't mind finding one on my patch

They are distributed in a triangular pattern every 16 miles in three directions from the local command centre IIRC. I think all the locations are actually listed on Sub Brit or in War Plan UK.

As someone who isn't familiar, what's a roc bunker & how would I recognise one? The questions may make me sound thick but I'm tired, been up since 3am.
