Vestguard kevlar/sand glove
http://www.vestguard.co.uk/gloves/sand-k...gloves.htm there similar to the ni gloves. I have owned these since december but never tested them until friday night. they act abit like a boxing glove in the way they increase the surface area ofthe area your hitting. They certainly protect your hands and would recomend them to people. There also warm wich is a must if your working outside. Not sure how well these would do against blades, your knuckles/fingers will be fine if someone was to slash them, the palm and finger tips have a layer of padding/kevlar on them, the only area I would really be concerened about is the thumb if you went to grab something sharp. Also the sizings abit off, I ordered the xl and it feels loose around my fingers. If you carnt find a shop nearby that stocks the gloves, its nothing an additional set of cotton gloves wouldnt solve.

Is the sand hard? Compacted is probably more accurate actually. I've been looking at some of the ones with "knuckle protection" like the oakleys and wiley ones, but i want something that'll protect your knuckles when you smash it against something hard. Like a skull.

With a clenched fist the gloves pack a punch. If you want to do some damage motorbike gloves have a strong reinforced knuckle or something like this http://www.survivalaids.com/order1.php?pg=3812
