RE: Heating a Room for 8p per day
Cheers Nix,

My crew have been resistant to the cooler living environment strategy as well.

The new solid fuel range and massive thermal accumulator have proven a great success. Once lit and up to temperature, the sawdust bricks deployed to maintain constant heat output. On the £1.50 per day strategy we can heat the room to 25C, cook all our meals, and have enough water boiling capability for all our hot drinks, water bottles and water sterilizing needs.

Overnight I'm letting the range die, and the accumulator is currently maintaining room temperature at around 18c. We can still detect release of stored heat over a three day period after the fire is extinguished. I believe re-radiated heat time can be extended even further by modification to reduce convection losses.
