I found the French soldiers to be very professional especially their para commandos of some demi brigade whose name I cannot remember. I also had fond memories of working with the Bundeswehr especially the Fallschirmjaeger and Grenadiers man could those dudes drink. I found the Danes to be the most slovenly troops, never worked with the Italians though.

Of course all other regiments British or otherwise could only bask in the glory of the Light Infantry Smile

To my recollection, nothing made so fine a snack as an oatmeal block, (or biscuit, sweet,) spread with apricot jam, with a slice of cheese possessed on top...

Oh yes cheese possessed, I got a tin out of a pack when I first joined up in 72, it was canned in 1956!!!
