It seems that it is impossible to remove the concept of competition from a religious discussion.

"As good as/ in place of/better than"closely followed by "You don't really believe/how could you think/ you can't convince me!"

One more vote for the downfall of the "mature adult" theme.

Religion has started many wars, but I am not aware of any that it has prevented or stopped?

I can't think of any either, Devonian. It's more of a liability than a help.
