Look at this headline please
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/6194...ttacks-war

It says SAS on the streets of Britain.

So set aside the BS / propaganda / hype and consider this.

What about urban preppers or other preppers travelling through our major cities with their GHBs and EDC gear, consider the dreadful difficulties and risks members of our community face from all sides.

Prepper accidentally walking into a police checkpoint with his GHB on his back which will set off every metal detector for 10 miles. they inspect his GHB and find flashlights, knife, tape, multi tool, food, hat gloves and maybe even a pocket edition of the SAS Urban survival guide.

or

Prepper leaves his gear at home and wanders without any kit into the middle of a terrorist atrocity, gets stranded and has no support system with him.

or

Prepper leaves gear at home and accidentally strolls into the arms of a mob of thugs / protesting violent anarchists/ ethnic street gang armed with knives.

or

Prepper leaves gear at home and wanders into a protest march and accidentally gets kettled for 8 hours.

Just wanted to highlight some of the more negative aspects and choices the well equipped prepper could face.

As the overall situation here appears to be deteriorating your above points do add something of an extra fine focus for many of 'us'.
A small suggestion from this end - would it not be a good idea to have about ones person or in ones bag/gear some evidence of being a 'prepper/survivalist' rather than someone geared up for some kind of as yet defined event. Possibly a paperback book on prepping or a few printouts from the forum to 'justify' why the items are with you?
One still hopes that 'innocent until proven guilty' might just work in this country.

Yup documentation such as perhaps a paper disaster survival guide, and a prepper related magazine, or perhaps a collection of sensible prepper related magazines, infographics, guides etc on a flash drive you could present if detained to show what you actually are and not a terrorist. I keep a flash drives with maps, safe places and about 90 infographics on assorted survival tips in my GHB

Just thinking about your clever suggestion a bit further, instead of portraying or tagging ourselves as preppers per se, perhaps if we carried stuff that associated us as say bush crafters, hikers, mountaineers, gap year travellers, off gridders, urban explorers, manic campers, Parkours etc something somewhat LESS anti social than preppers. We would still all carry the basic very same equipment and gear but it would be for a more socially acceptable purpose. That way we may not find ourselves with the barrel of an MP5 shoved up our left nostrils, or finding ourselves being detained for further enquiries.??

SAS on our streets as Paris weeps: Britain on alert as French condemn act of war

SPECIAL Forces were patrolling Britain’s streets last night after Islamic extremists massacred at least 129 people in Paris.

I think if there rooting through your bag and you've not been shot then a trip to a holding area in plasticuffs is not the end of the world and after a cup of tea and a chat you'll be on your way......just make sure what you have is legal and there aren't things that can be improvised into other less legal things....trim your ghb/edc down to the bare essentials so as not to appear more interesting than you are.
Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool!!!!
