I have a van too, it has decent range and plenty of room. In a country-wide SHTF I will use it to meet/collect friends and family who don't make it all the way to my place.

Really now, what is your definition of "country wide SHTF"?

If you are roaming the countryside collecting stragglers in your van the S has not HTF !

SHTF is when they are rolling vans and setting them afire.

We clearly have a different idea of what SHTF means. My definition includes economic collapse, food and energy shortages.

It does not necessarily include widescale rioting, although that would probably happen later.
