RE: Finland Jama Bushcraft Blanket Shirt
I prefer wool, merino, as my base wicking layer. Synthetic zipped fleece on top of that, then rain shell if needed. I don't recognise the problems with breaking zips, but I tend to avoid asian stuff as the quality is too haphazard.
In the UK a wool outer layer doesn't make too much sense a lot of the time, as it is often raining, so the "natural textile" rules of the boreal forest do not apply I think.
I'm thinking of changing to a (2-layer) merino wicking layer and a double gortex coat rather than the above 3-layer system and might try it on a mountain climb I'm doing next week. However, if anyone has experience of wearing wool outer layers, like the shirts mentioned above, when out and about then I'd be interested in hearing your experiences and recommendations.
