NVIS Real UK example video
Here's a vid of a down-to-earth radio guy in the UK making country-wide contacts using just 10 W of transmitter power.

Some of the stations talking to him were also running low power ( referred to as QRP) one of them using an end fed wire as described on an earlier thread.

He does a good You Tube channel, also look up Radio Prepper, he does a lot of prepper related comms vids.
It does show you what you can do with 10w, although I would prefer at least 25w for SSB.

The new generation Xiegu G90 radios are 20w. Built into a mil grade case and have built antenna matcher. Literally connect to power supply, plug in a random length of wire more than 12ft long, and its in business. Cost around £300 direct from China, or £450 from the UK supplier Sinotel.
