Just watched the first episide of doomsday preppers and the first family impressed me, but the Bushcrafter and the party guirl were not my scene at all.
BUT after 30 years of prepping I'm astounded by the amount of kit and supplies that first guy had in his Container Castle home, Enough grub for 22 people for 20 years ( or one meal for Norfolk if Barny gets his way Smile only joking).

He has more kit stashed away than anyone else I know it must have cost hima fortune and I struggle to work out how he paid for it.

yeah the 2nd 2 were pretty shocking, but the first one was fairly superb, concise plans, well planned and co0ordinated group, large enough to start a settlement if need be, a ridiculous amount of food, and a great house!....as much as we may knock those yanks, some of them have got their shit together proper job!

yeh barney u did spell methane right Big Grin...i was impressed by that an all thoough, multiple power sources, those are some dedicated preppers!...who ruined it all by destroying their opsec lol

NR,

Gear is much cheaper in the US. It isn't the same as rip off britain. Plus they have a lot more spare money in the US.

Yeah but 20 years worth of grub for 22 people!!!! Jeeze, even the kid had a customised AR15 sportster and a carbine !!!

I cant even afford decent arrows !!!

Note the distances involved as well they were willing to drive for 2 hours just to check out their BO plans, and drive 12 hours to get to their retreat, This bloody lot in the Uk wont drive 20 minutes !!! Smile
Population density...
Again, Fuel is cheap. They travel long distances and think nothing of it and they have access to kit we are banned from having in this mickey mouse country.

Don't think on the things you don't have look at what you have and spend your funds wisely. Envy of what others have is a socialist trait (ouch)

if i drove 12 hours i would either be in the sea for 7 of them or suck in traffic for 8 !!!!
they think nothing of driving long distances in America, Canada and OZ, but then they can get further away from the cities where here we can only get double figures away from cities.
