There is an easier way to remove ticks, even at this time of year I am taking ticks off the dogs almost everytime we go into the hills,..and in the summer removing ticks from both dogs and myself is a daily thing, so I know a bit about their removal

The best way to do it, is to get hold of them with a pair of tweezers and `unscrew` them out of you..... a tick drives itself in clockwise, just unscrew them

A vet told me this many years ago, I laughed at the time,.. but have done it every time since.

....you can do it other ways, some people do use these tick tools, but the problem as far as I see it,..they are not foolproof, and if you do get it wrong and leave the head in the skin you have problems, because [a] you will have a hell of a job removing it, and [b] you run a greater risk of infection than you would if you had left the tick alone

So guys,... unscrew them every time, it take about 6 turns, but never fails to come out alive
