Nothing over 12 years old up here, heck most of em are grand parents by the time they are 25 these days.
I lived on a desert island for a short amount of time (just below 20 weeks) and although clocks were never a consideration, knowing the days did help. If the doc was coming to check on us every other Wednesday, we needed to know what day was Wednesday.

Used the Tally System BP suggested. Got a small branch and made notches, every day, then the 7th day (Sunday) was the line through the lot. Same as a 4 down, 5th through system, but 6 down and 7th through. Worked a treat.....as long as you remembered, and started the count as soon as something happened!!! If you leave it a week, without work to regulate what's going on, no newspapers, no tv, no magazines, no radio...you're basically starting up with a huge disadvantage.

However, when it comes to time of year and all that....VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you screw up the calendar and lose track of time and date, you'll forget to hang up your stockings for Christmas!!! Then you'll miss out on the presents!!!!!!!!!!!
