I feel safe and sleep well at night knowing that gun laws keep guns out of criminals hands and I will never have to protect myself.

Of course you can. Costs a bit extra, but nearly all guns come in left-right configurations.
Imagine being lefthanded and firing an SA80. You'd have hot bullet cassings smacking you in the face. What about a sniper with a bolt action? He'd be smacking himself in the face to reload each shot!

Some girl on the DCCT range at annual camp fired a l98A2 from the left shoulder. The random guy from the Parachute regiment voiced his opinion at the girl giving a fierce war cry at the simulated enemies running up the beach. She had actually knocked out her two front teeth with the cocking handle. A colonel did the same thing on the same camp, despite advice not to.

its just that on the post some one put that its a mirror image of the guns because you can not get a left side bolt rifle thats all
