I used the set I made years ago and carry to these workshops. The set was a project my son and I did. He made some parts and I made others but we put it together ourselves from "found bits" lying about the house and nearby fields.

At least that was the case for everything except for the spindle insert. That is a piece of horsetail stem I collected from alongside the railroad bed.

Trial by fire attempt 2, tomorrow. Think of this post as a bump.
