Just a question on your survival expert heroes and those you rate.
Rannulph Fiennes....a more tenacious man you will never meet.
Ray Mears-Mr Calm and Steady.
The British People during and after WWII.
I like Dav Canterbury he puts out lots of good content on you tube
when I read the question the first two to pop into my head were Lofty Wiseman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lofty_Wiseman

and Les Stroud http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Stroud

theres a few out there but these guys were the first I thought of
I'm going for Cody Lundin cos I was impressed with his book "When All Hell Breaks Loose", very down to earth though you have to forgive those terrible illustrations. He appears to live what he preaches. Respect.
I think that you can gain a lot for many of these guys,.. not sure who my favorite is, maybe Cody Lundin,.... However I am in no doubt who the worst is,... Bear Grilles,... the chances he takes is more bravado than survival
Derek Rowan of http://www.ascenttra.com/ was our instructor for the FEMA Urban Disaster Survival Skills workshop.

George Jasper the of US Rescue and Special Operations Group, author of Six Ways In and 12 Ways Out.
