I'm not disagreeing with you but when you have a means tested benefit system those that prepare are penalised and it encourages everyone not to prepare. Human nature then means that more people will use it and thus it runs out of money. 40 years of socialist governments have led to where we are out of money and selling our grandkids lives.
That is just one example that shows that we reward those that depend on the state and penalise those that don't. The system has never worked.
