So essentially, large areas of preparedness are pretty much sealed off for me, for now (such as comms, a deep larder, defense) so it's better to just take a step back and evalauate what I can actually achieve rather that stressing out over not being able to follow a conventional preparedness plan.
You can make a stash in a shoe box, don't be discouraged by what people with more means have done. You prep in your own way. In fact, with the appropriate thought, a shoe box kit could be an interesting project, forcing you to think about multi-use items that will be useful for a BOB as well as things for a long term re-location. A packet of seeds for example.
