I merely answered in the same manner as Devonian, but if my reply hurt you're sensibilities I will rephrase it.

Yes: My local farmer will let me live on his land.

Yes: My local farmer will let me hunt on his land.

No: My local farmer will not let city folk take over the countryside at will.

No: My local farmer will not let folk kill his livestock because they're hungry.

PS, I'm not a Mod, and what exactly have I "spoilt"?
Ask yourself if you were that farmer......would you allow it to happen .........No brainer pal.
th my answer was for devonian...Smile
My apologies Sunna.
th , thanks.

ss, yes it is a no brainer the reason i put it that way is that so many on this site seem to think they will nip into the countryside to bugg out , hunt and live on somebody elses land no problem.
they wont face facts , theirs nowhere to bugg out to , except farmers land.
It depends like so much on the situation, if we are talking industrial collapse etc then the farmers will still be around, and no doubt defend their property robustly.
If on the other hand we see large population die off due to pathogens then there could be a lot of farm property vacant.
The farmers I know all have adjacent farms and keep in contact through radio, and I don't doubt other farmers do the same thing, they tend to be a well organised bunch.
I don't fancy many townies chances taking on a farmstead to be honest, but in the real world it only takes one well aimed petrol bombSad
