2012 Short Wave radio reception tests
In 2012, there will be many Short wave UK and international radio competitions that will provide opportunities to test your equipment’s receive capability on low power signals.
It is useful to log all of the station call signs that you hear, together with their locations. This allows to to map out areas of the country / globe that your equipment is capable of receiving. The low power competitions age generally using power of 3 to 10w which is very much in line with what is likely to be used in an energy poor environment.
