Providing you have some room BP , I would recommend a poly tunnel kit they are not that expensive , they come in many sizes or even make a greenhouse from some pallets you say there’s plenty down in your area but by the time you pay for roof sheets ,you will find a poly tunnel is cheaper ! And quick to install they are dead simple to erect , the payback is excellent and a longer season , you will be enjoying good fresh food when all around you struggle to fill a side dish plate ! …..prepare right now BP .

The other thing is look for adds where people are selling greenhouses and poly tunnels , mostly you have to take them down to remove them ( these are mostly free ) but again by the time you do all that ,then replace glass and get it home ……it’s cheaper and easier to buy a poly tunnel ! …save yourself a load of action poly tunnel it is then boyo !
finding room is the problem here, thats one reason I keep looking for land to buy, our garden-back and front- is okay, its one of the largest in the area but its not huge, we have gone for several sheds rather than greenhouses or polytunnels, going to get a cold frame this spring.
Last year, it became obvious that the globalists are trying to cut back global food production by limiting farming in places like Holland, and limiting the supply of fertilisers. The result is that globally food prices are going to rise a lot this year. That means food prices are going up in the UK, but globally it means the cost of living, is going to be too high for many, so that they cannot afford to live.
Thought I'd finished posting here today, when I go onto another forum and see Russia, ... after the grain ships were being used as means to launch attacks on Crimea, and how the grain was mainly going to rich countries like the EU, and not the poor as the deal was supposed to, decided to cut the grain deal and then ... target the economic infrastructure of Ukraine. So 60,000 tonnes of grain has just gone up in smoke. Which, because much of that grain was going to the EU, means the price of everything made from wheat is going up.

As my previous post pointed out, there have been other moves by the EU and others to limit global food production. The only good thing, is that rising CO2 has globally increased yields. The other is that we in the UK are generally rich enough to afford food even if prices rise substantially ... but there are many for whom that is a life-denying change.
It has long been within our power to feed the world but our *cough* leaders choose not to. They would rather line their own pockets and send money, which is not edible, to these countries and then say we have done our bit. Sending food would make more sense but that can't easily be redirected.

In addition the third world won't accept food that we have legislated to be out of date. The food is edible and yet it is refused because it doesn't meet our standards. The people starving would have it but prodnosed do gooders have decided that they would rather they starved than send them something that has an expired out of date label on it.

Another example of the brilliant minds we have in our civil service.

In the 1970s, we had famines that were being caused by "food aid". That was because those farmers who managed to grow crops in those difficult times, and who would normally have got a good price for their labour, had that effort undermined by free "food aid". So, the farmers who managed to grow a small surplus, ended up having no money to invest in improving their small holdings, which made it more likely there would be another famine the next year. The more food aid which was sent, the more local production was destroyed and the more likely another famine became.

The reality, is that western countries were only sending food, because they were subsidising their own farmers and then dumping the food on the world market, which was undermining food production in Africa ... and that was a huge contributor to the problem in the first place. That together with some daft world bank schemes.

If we had actually wanted to help farmers, instead of giving out food, we should have given them money. They would then pay money to local farmers who had an excess, that would boost their profits, allow them to invest in the future and that would have helped stop the famines.
most of the food aid never reaches the people who need it, I have known people who worked on ships and many times when visiting the port for food supplies they have bought food aid marked " a gift from the people of the UK".
It is the Western way. Pretend to care. Talk a lot then do something, anything will do that only costs money, give your pious self a medal and talk about how good you are. Don't bother checking the results because you don't really care.
I know that our UK farmers had a meeting the other day, anyone know if/when they will take to the streets like many in Europe have. This is when we are likely to see empty shelves.
Well this is covered by our preps. So keep an eye out and buy what you can to supplement it.
