Your Most Likely Scenario - Nix - 11 September 2013
Ok, we're all preppers preparing for something we believe might happen. Just curious as to what that is.
So, your two most likely scenarios and why please in two categories.
These are mine.
Natural:
1) Yellowstone caldera - cos it's already long overdue!
2) Losing the Gulf Stream - cos of Global warming->ice melt->desalination (natural or man made? I'll call it natural for now)
Man made:
1) Financial meltdown - cos of Man's greed and ego
2) WWIII - cos Man is stupid enough to push the button

1) Gulf stream change (might already be happening?)
2) Solar flare EMP

agree with financial collapse and/or WW3, very likely IMHO

Financial collapse followed by mass rioting, state sector collapses as workers are not paid, troops on the street, martial law, rationing, "emergency powers", state theft of gold and fuel and food.
And then it will start to get bad......

Natural:
Global polar shift...possibly already happening...evidence suggests so.
Gulf Stream Shutdown...also possibly already happening.
Crazy weather, result of the above, or some 3rd unrecognised stimuli, maybe result of manmade weather manipulation, e.g. cloud seeding.
Man Made:
Damn this one is harder to predict. Top 3 is doable, but not sure which order.

Financial collapse
Peak-Oil/Peak-Food - Think super over population coupled with bad weather starving people, plus fuel price increases, breakdown of farming/grocery industry.

Economic breakdown, maybe the collapse of the EU(I hope) combined with overpopulation, seems the most likely to me.

Yup, desalination of The Gulf Stream already happening, been happening for a while now and getting worse.
Yup, poles are wobbling and getting worse...

I'm not sure I would add economic meltdown - don't understand it - I just spend until I'm told to stop.

i agree with all bar the peak oil/peak food scenario....for want of a better way of putting it , we are to near the top of the food chain....third world and less developed countries will feel the brunt of this as they cannot financialy compete with us for those resources.
my money is on fiscal social collapse...no pun intended

inflation leading to economic collapse leading to , riots ,food shortages , power outs , every old cop , army , ta , security guard being called up to form some sort of new control force .
