Your compasses no longer point to the 'actual north pole' they're pointing to somewhere in Russia now.

Magnetic north is the one that moves approx 20 miles a year its some place over the baring sea at the moment, Grid north and True north are still where we left them. Mag north has been wandering for the last few hundred million years its cause by the liquid core of the planet and the slight wobble on earths tilted axis. The ACTUAL north pole is TRUE north and it has not moved as far as I am aware.

That's what I meant by polar. magnetic pole. But I really didn't make that clear. Didn't realise it was 20 MILES!!! I thought it was 20KM. That's a huge difference!

Clicked the link. It says, "This video has been removed by the user."

I'll check youtube and see if there's another video relating to it.

Couldn't find something short that seemed reasonable, so I'm sending something not short!

Mag north is always moving, always has look at the top of every Ordnance Survey Land Ranger map ever printed, along the edge you will see information on the issue of that map, what the magnetic variation is tween mag and grid north at that time, then use the formula to correct your route bearing. Grid to mag add, mag to grid get rid. EG my local map reports 4 degrees variation at time of print.
