RE: Radio 4 - NorthernRaider - 28 November 2012 Scythe you wanker ![]() RE: Radio 4 - Barneyboy - 28 November 2012 s13 mate £50,000 year my point on the head it is easy for the rich to do better than the poor money opens doors being poor shuts them ,you are doing a job for £6.50 hour unless you pissed away the £50,000 you must have back up ,try living on £65.00 a week with no help from savings or mummy and daddy live in the real world mate .but that was a good rant pal as all ways RE: Radio 4 - BDG - 28 November 2012 (28 November 2012, 11:14)Barneyboy Wrote: s13 mate £50,000 year my point on the head it is easy for the rich to do better than the poor money opens doors being poor shuts them ,you are doing a job for £6.50 hour unless you pissed away the £50,000 you must have back up ,try living on £65.00 a week with no help from savings or mummy and daddy live in the real world mate .but that was a good rant pal as all ways If you are earning £50k a year PAYE, you will be taking home £34K a year. To be presentable in a £50K a year job, you are going to need to wear a decent suit everyday - there is £300 for a suit, £100 for a shirt X 5 - there - replace once every six months thats £4k a year. Ten shirts at £100. £500 a year on two pairs of shoes and maintainace. BMW 5 series / AUDI A8 / Merc E Class - £300 - 500 a month depending on spec - £3600 - 5k a year. So we are talking over £10k a year to get to dressed and get to work. You are not going to be taken serious driving a rotten 15 year old metro in a tesco suit to a £50k a year job. Stick at least £6k on top of that for work related socialising - drinks, meals, golf, what ever, just so you keep your profile up. You are soon taking home £20K a year from your £50K job, that is without fuel to get to and from work and paying your normal bills. Suits: 5 suits between £800 and £1000. My boss went mad at me for having a suit HUNG on an M&S hanger. The suit was Brioni £1000+ Shoes: 2 Pairs, one at £300 and the other £800. Plus upkeep of the shoes. But those shoes have lasted a while now. Spot on with the cars. I had 3 cars at one point, and you're expected to treat clients. Some clients will look down on you for anything less than a merc, others will look down on you for having a merc, so you get a Vauxhall (I still have that one). Oh and the 300 miles a day fuel expense. I was about £150 better off a month on £50k than I was on £18k. Job depicts lifestyle. Lifestyle depicts expenditure. Expenditure depicts savings/investments. Savings/investments depicts wealth. At the end of the day, my lifestyle was costing me my health (oh, add to the expenditure column 'health clubs') and my free time. ANYONE with a brain and the ability to act professionally can earn £50k or more. It might cost you your health, family, freetime, and the rest. But it is doable. When SD met me in Bristol, I was enjoying a house share (flat share) to keep expenditure down, and even then I was earning about £35k-ish. It's better to have other people work for you, than to work for them. RE: Radio 4 - Barneyboy - 28 November 2012 yeah makes me cry mate all that money on suits my ass so you have to buy the best bullshit my heart bloods mate live in the fucking real world dude RE: Radio 4 - Tibbs735 - 28 November 2012 We don't live in a capitalist society. In a real capitalist system only the strong enterprises survive, and when they fail, its like a large tree falling in the rain forest; new businesses flood up to fill the new gap. Currently, the forest is choked with diseased trees that block out all the light, but refuse to die (Banks sponging up vast amounts of our money) It will always boil down to survival of the fittest, all other political and moral constructs can only exist because we are for the most part fed, clean and clothed, and not in direct competition with one another. For now. RE: Radio 4 - Scythe13 - 28 November 2012 Totally agree Tibbs! We have some disgustingly tainted financial system ignorantly referred to, by the uneducated masses, as capitalism! And as for you BarneyBoy....fair does mate. I'm not going to knock you for your view point.
