You could probably make something similar using an otterbox and some gear from maplins (when it was good - maybe ebay instead)

Maybe one of these plus a Solar charging arrangement?

300 yards range. Is that enough for you?

I have a good `hidey hole`not too far from the house, and I would like to be able to watch the house from it without venturing out

the maplin link earlier in the thread, the camera is 9v dc, this will no doubt be a mains adaptor.

the reversing cameras ive seen are quite small, just a wee black nub.

they area waterproof too, if they weren't could you imagine what'd happen the first time you washed your car?

L.S.,... The range is well inside what I am looking for,... my `bunker` is no more than about 30 meters from the house.

Binnie's idea about the car reversing camera is good too. I assume that it has to be hard wired? That might be an advantage???

RE: [Spy ] Camera`s,.. - Highlander - 20 March 2013

I think its the best idea too,... its simple and cheap

RE: [Spy ] Camera`s,.. - Lightspeed - 21 March 2013

Cheap and simple's how I like it too.....just like me.

I love that idea. But would there be a way of powering the camera with a small solar panel?
