RE: WOOD STOVES - Lightspeed - 13 September 2013 Hi SS Agreed the rose tinted view of a lovely wood fire roaring away in the inglenook completely ignores the effort needed to aquire, store, and in particular convert fuel. Currently 8 cords of seasond wood in the store, of which one cord is converted ready fr burning. Another 2 cords due in the next month, this is to replace what we expect to burn this winter. Consumption this year will be interesting as new stove to update our existing 40 year old one is due to be delivered next week. We are hopeful thattis will give us sonme improved efficiency. RE: WOOD STOVES - BeardyMan - 13 September 2013 I'm lazy, I buy kiln dried hard wood RE: WOOD STOVES - Sunna - 13 September 2013 everybody burns around here and on a crisp cold clear night you can see and smell the smoke for quite away, also ash falls back down covering all the cars in my street ,this would be a sighn i would look for if i was keeping a eye out for others . |
