This certainly does not bode well for "unity" (laugh!) in Europe. In fact I am sort of hoping that it will trigger a collapse and we can quit the whole wretched mess.
I'm not sure this is a SHTF for us - yet - but it may well be the start of a whole lot of social unrest. I'm watching carefully.

Let's be clear on this. The ones fleeing war in fear of their lives are refugees not migrants & I'm proud our country is helping them out. The ones coming from Romania, Poland etc.. purely for jobs are migrants & should be severely limited, if not stopped altogether. Just my opinion.
Back to the question though, is this SHTF? Only for the poor sods caught up in it.

Fifties immigrants were either Caribbean (bought in by Enoch Powell) and Cypriots
Methinks the situation is a lot more nuanced than that.
What we ARE seeing are mass movements of people unlike any since end of WWII

Don't agree with you fully there. If they were refugees would they risk all to get here?
If it was you or I we would weigh up our options;
1) Move to another area in their own country.
2) Move to a neighbouring country.
3) Move to a similar country to their own culture.
4) Move to the nearest socialist paradise and leech off them. Risking all in a dangerous boat trip and paying dangerous criminals for transport.

Which would you choose? You know the one they chose.
Every now and again there is a war. They need to get people riled up and ready to kill. This is the riling up. I pity the poor immigrant who came here legitimately when it blows up. The ones that have had kids here, integrated well and are valued members of the community. They will be the ones that lose all and don't deserve it.
These new guys will never integrate or contribute and they will break the back of our society. Social engineering by our government never works and it won't work here.

rs ....your right , I do now try harder with what I put on line only 2ish months ago I was grilled over something I posted on here on p2s over 2 yrs ago.
I don't think that blacks and Asians who live in the uk are british or their offspring.[I wish them no harm just go back to their homelands with a cash backhander for their effort]

one thing for sure , migrants....refugees....race....is one big problem that is not going away.
its questioned like never before , brits are now far more willing to speak out , where in years gone buy they were afraid of being called racist or it affecting their work.

Lets not forget that the Syrians are not the only country involved in this mass migration, it includes a whole host of North African; East African; Middle Eastern Countries and also large numbers from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In addition to this, there are also mass movements of persons from some far eastern countries and Indonesia, towards Australia.

This could be a bit of a developing story, but yesterday reports were published about the Russian's significantly expanding and reinforcing their presence in Syria http://news.sky.com/story/1547429/us-fears-over-russias-build-up-in-Syria
And today Syria (presumably backed or should I say prompted by Putin) is issuing warnings to the UK military to stay out of the country's affairs http://news.sky.com/story/1547608/syria-condemns-any-uk-military-interference
Russia has always had a base in Syria, but it looks like this is being expanded and reinforced and who's to say that Russian planes won't soon be patrolling the skies of Russia, in direct conflict with those of the anti IS coalition. 'Another' example of Russia flexing its muscles.

Not flexing muscles....more like a defence move DEV ....if you were to keep pushing like a bully ....eventually people push back...simple as....so ....we....should stay on top with our preps....we are going to need as much as possible....very shortly... is and remains my view..in short leave the lies and bullshit to others...stay focussed on looking after us and ours.
