River, please will you consider rescinding Robs ban, I respect your decision of course but do feel that we all have to cut each other a bit of slack on issues that can be very contentious.
I was absolutely incensed last week by your very insulting and derogatory remarks about the military, but I had to respect your views because we must be free to make them.
I personally believe (without malice) that socialism and trade unionism and all this inclusive society rubbish are the root causes of just about everything rotten in modern Britain, but those are my honestly held beliefs. Geordie Rob holds diametrically opposed beliefs in favour of everything I hate BUT " I may disagree with everything Robs says, but I will fight for his right to say them"
C'mon RS if we go down the banning route for stopping speaking or writing contentiously then we become as bad those who would ban us or condemn us for OUR beliefs.
OR My respected moderator I think you should ban me as well for the week for inciting Rob to get angry.
C,mon RS lets be even handed about this if Rob is banned for a week, then the git who would him up ( Me) should be treated in the same way.

The ban on Rob was NOT for his views. I would defend to the last his freedom to say what he pleases (unlike some left wing people who would ban lots of stuff)
The reason for his ban was for extremely bad language. Dont get me wrong. I use epithets from time to time especially when old sugar doesn't do it.
But the particular word he used I found VERY offensive.
I'll try and unban him but I ask everyone to moderate things a bit.
BTW thats what a moderator is for

Disrcrimination is another one of those words used to control the narrative and stifle peoples own views that don't coincinde with the zeitgeist. We have to accept all "their" caveats but we are castigated for having our own that don't fit the party line.
