RE: suppressors - Mortblanc - 28 December 2017

My area is only under light snow. We have more expected tomorrow.

Our big problem is the temps. It has not been above 0 for 4 days and will not go above that mark in the foreseeable future. We have a week of below freezing temps forecast. Yesterday it did not get above -5 all day.

I must get to an appointment today and I realized last night that I have not cranked up the car engine in 5 days with these temps where they are. I just hope the battery is not flat.

I have a jumper battery but I just hate to fool with a vehicle that will not work in these temps.

RE: suppressors - CharlesHarris - 28 December 2017

Here we keep a battery maintainer under the boot of the vehicle, connected to the battery and plugged into AC mains to keep the battery warm and float-charged during the winter. I have one of those red REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT streamers connected to the cord to remind me to disconnect before driving off.

When I lived in NH we also used a black heater, but it is seldom cold enough, for long enough to need it here in WV.
But it was -12C when I got up this am, and at 1130 am it is -5C out there now...
