the UK is 61% self sufficient in food, its only because of imports of cheap food that we can feed everybody, mind you a lot of people are very wasteful with food.
if we had to be completely self sufficient in food, I dont think the UK has ever been that, if we started in January 1st of any year we would run out of all food by the second week of August, and thats official NFU figures.
