NaomiBanat - TV reporter on this forum - Weyoun - 3 March 2012

I have just had a PM from NaomiBanat asking me to potentially participate in a TV program about prepping etc.

I have no issue with NaomiBanat making the request at all. The problem is, anyone would be a fool to do this as you would be advertising who and where you are with all the goodies you have.

So NaomiBanat, whilst I am sure that your intentions are honourable, I want to decline publicly and bring the subject into the open for others to comment upon.

Thank you.

Steve

this is the 4th or 5th time this has come up on sites i have been on, my answer is always the same, i am a grey man ans will NEVER take any part it these things, not so much for the comments i would get but more so the little scroat down the road, who knows me, when he or she is short of food, will remember and come knocking on my door.

It's like those idiots who featured in a Daily mail article a few months ago. Giving their names, their location and details of their supplies. Can a prepper do a more stupid thing ?

I understand why people don't want to talk to reporters about this, but isn't it worth trying to increase public awareness and maybe inspire a few more to take responsibility for their own fates during an emergency.

Yes, but the way to get the message out is not through journalists looking to make a program that is not factual, accurate on in the spirit of prepping because that does not make good tv.
Shock, Revultion, Humiliation, Abuse, Ridicule is the hallmark of the media, accuracy, honesty, dignity, truthfullness, caution and care are boring.

I believe any sensible person will decide on their own they need to prep or become more self reliant and will initiate by themselves a search for information and other preppers.

What these Reporters don't seem to get is we are ordinary people, we go to work, we socialise with friends, raise our kids, were not out dancing around bush fires in the forests and hunting dinner, ( well some times lol )

we live ordinary lives! but our eyes are open! we see the cost of food rising, fuel costs going up and up, threats of strike action, we know we don't produce enough food in this country to sustain the population, and as last summer and the one before proved, when the countries that supply us have problems such and drought or heat waves, we either can't have what they supply or we have to pay though the nose for it.

One day of snow this year and my mums local tesco in london had empty shelves, even a sheeple must be able to see it makes sense to have some food stored?

We keep up with world events, fore warned is fore armed, I know quite a few people that never watch the news! my mind boggles, I watch it every day coz I know that usually what ever shite is going on in other countries will sooner or later affect us here, and I'd like a bit of notice!

we watch for bad weather coz we know if it's coming our way, we still have to get our kids to school and get to work, stay warm and fed, and we need to prepare for that, before I ever heard the term prepper, I would not leave home for any journey with my kids with out water, blankets, food, torch, petrol, most of what we do is just common sense.

Read through the forum Naomi, we discuss solar flares, wars, pandemics, food shortages and so on, do a little research, and ask yourself this!
if all your research opens your eyes and you decide it maybe a good idea to become a prepper, how many people would you trust and tell?
