I walked away from Facebook ages ago- couldn't delete the account, only deactivate it.

Got a program called NoScript installed on my computer- shows which sites really are on each website- mostly google in various forms (here has Survivaluk.net and statcounter.com), but increasingly, especially on news sites facebook seems to appear more and more regularly.

If you do a google search for How To Close Your Google Account it gives you a link to step by step instructions on how to close it.BUT be warned if you click on FB any time in the next 14 days it automatically reactivates the account.
