Jute Tape - Timelord - 2 May 2012 Jute tape, otherwise known as Hessian. Being sold in Aldi at the moment. 20metres for £2 Undyed (at the moment) Ideal for home made Ghillie suits or camo outfit adaptations. Just like the Home Guard & highly effective too. Just dye a few colours extra and mix & match. Thread local vegetation through the mesh or mesh loops to complete the invisibility field.. lol. RE: Jute Tape - Skean Dhude - 2 May 2012 Good find. RE: Jute Tape - bigpaul - 2 May 2012 bloomin typical.....no Aldi's in our neck of the woods! RE: Jute Tape - Clansmen63 - 2 May 2012 The jute roll is also good as an improvised ‘emergency’ wound dressing, either on its own if you have nothing else to use with it or putting a little ‘Petroleum Jelly’ or ‘Lanolin’ or other such substance on help keep the Jute dressing from sticking to the wound, but at the same times allows absorption of blood or other seepage. Only recommended as an EMERGENCY alternative. The jute can also be used as a very effective fire kindling as the spark from a ‘Fire Stick’ or ‘Fire Steel’ ignites the fibres very easily. (It also has many other uses, so always worth having some stashed away). |
