never thought about the weight before but then again would you want to bug out with out one in a real SHTF situation?

Flipping good post, Kudos to you Paul that should get our community thinking a bit ( esp if they have busted their backs like moi)
My on foot bugging out kit would prolly involve a Compound Bow, 25 arrows, quiver, A pistol or carbine crossbow 20 bolts ( modified to Nemesis Spec) and my knife. Plus binos or spotting scope.

Wife and child both carrying compound bows, 25 arrows, quiver and large lock knives.

I blooming well would, It may not be exposed or openly carried to begin with but I would not Bug Out if TSHTF without the defensive / security element of my kit.Smile

i dont know if you would want to bug out(esp. from a city) and HAVING to fire a gun at someone...this would give your position/area away, maybe better to carry a rifle in a gun slip or on a sling and use a bow and arrows to clear the way...much quieter.

Darn it! Blush
Forgot the shot gunners amongst us.
Sorry guys and girls.
So, Basic Remington pump or a 'standard' over/under = 3.6 kg (ish)
100 average weighted 12g shotgun shells = 3 kg
Total 6.6 kg
