Sad thing is theres bound to be some yank thinking this is the wrath of a black president who supports gay marrige, and they should have tried harder to keep bush in.

Norfolk Virginia starting to flood
Atlantic city starting to flood
JFK and La Guardia airport runways flooded
Storm is still 5 hours out
Wind peaking in excess of 95 MPH instead of forcaste 50 MPH

14 dead so far.

RE: East Coast SOE declared, panic buying in region - NorthernRaider - 30 October 2012

729,000 without power in NYC, all main tunnels and bridges closed, 17 dead, hundreds of homes burnt down others flooded, transit systems under water, looting reported, sewage systems running backwards, 3 ft of water in some places, 18 inches of snow in others.

Just think about how Londonabad is equally low lying and prone to flooding.

2.4 million without power in New Jersey I think, Breezy Point a community where cops, teachers, firemen go to retire is gone, all burnt to the ground, the entire little village is just gone !!!!!

Its a miracle more where not killed considering the severity of the storm. Though saying that its not over yet, apparently virginia can expect up 3 foot of snow

Prooves the point that if you live in a low lying city utterly reliant on power, public transit systems etc you must have suicidal tendancies, as the residents of Galviston to New Orleans to New York keep finding out.

shows it dosent take much to knock out the power systems, did anyone else see the huge blast when the sub station blew up??

RE: East Coast SOE declared, panic buying in region - NorthernRaider - 30 October 2012

Yeah that was some blast, took out an entire sub station, twas one of about 4 biguns to go, and it was a fallen power supply that caused the fire storm in Breezy point.
